I had to find a replacement for my broken tablet and was stuck using an old backup. As a long-time Linux user, I’ve been using MyPaint on Windows for ages, then switched to Linux with Krita. I also dabble in Photoshop, ArtRage, and Sketch, and sometimes use drawing tablets for vector work on Windows. So, I needed a tablet that would function well on both Windows and Linux. While some other tablet brands are stepping up for the Linux community, UGEE has made it clear they’ve tested this model on Linux. They even provide driver settings software in .deb and .rpm formats for various Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. This tablet could be the best budget option with pro specs. If you care about a Linux work environment, this one’s a no-brainer. The build quality feels similar to the first-gen M708 I owned, but with some design improvements. The first generation was good, and this third generation is even better. If I get a chance, I’ll do a more detailed review, but I’m expecting it to be just as reliable as the first one. So far, it’s been working just fine for me. I’ve been using digital art tablets since the early WACOM days back in the Mac Quadra era, and I’ve become pretty neutral about brands. What matters to me is that the tablet performs well and is reasonably priced. I do a mix of work; not everything I do requires a tablet, and I also enjoy traditional mediums. For now, I’m giving it 5 stars. Why? Because it works in the desktop environments I need, and they provide driver settings for Linux. Plus, it’s a fantastic price for the performance! It’s handling nicely, just like I’m used to with this size tablet. Overall, this tablet seems to be a top pick for budget pro specs.

I'm really enjoying my Ugee S640; it's just what I needed. A superb product for the cost. I've been using it at work on Windows 10 to sign documents digitally, and it works like a charm. At home, I also use it with CorelDraw, Inkscape, and Hatch embroidery software on Windows 11. The best part? It's plug and play, so no extra drivers to mess with. I totally recommend this to anyone looking for a solid graphics tablet without breaking the bank.
